On August 17, 2022 – the second day of the Orientation, the Institute of Commerce, Nirma University organized a guest lecture on the topic “What is your Peak?” for the students of the 2nd and 3rd years. The speaker Mr. Dharmendra Joshi made the students introspect about the meaning of success. He highlighted the importance of having a goal in life to be successful. Also, as human beings, we need to identify the purpose of our life. He stressed that happiness should be the goal of our life rather than money. The only way to become happy is to have a clear knowledge of the definition of happiness. Money is a byproduct that cannot provide satisfaction. Further, happiness is subjective in nature. It varies from one person to another. However, one should have the necessary skills and capabilities to fight against uncertainties in life without any external support. This can be achieved through the strength of the character and inner will. One needs to start thinking about their lives from today onwards as success cannot be achieved without any efforts and motivation. Lastly, he mentioned that parents or teachers can only act as guiding force but one should have the spark within themselves to achieve their goals.
