Institute of Commerce, Nirma University arranged a guest session on “Basics of taxation for beginners” on July 19, 2022. Sir Y. K. Batra – retired Commissioner of Income Tax and Adjunct Faculty of Institute of Law was the invited expert in the session. From the history of tax that is “lagan” to present days newly introduced tax like G.S.T, sir gave a gist of everything. He discussed the nitty-gritty of taxation for the citizens of the country and its significance from the policymaker’s viewpoint. He enlightened the students with his expertise and wisdom on tax. Around 120 student participants attended the session.
