ICNU organized a career guidance session for its first and second-year BCom (Hons) students on August 8, 2023, at NIM Auditorium between 2 to 3 pm. The invited speaker Ms. Teena Rawal – Business Development Manager at ACCA, Mumbai delivered a talk on “Charting Your Career in Accounting and Finance”. She highlighted the importance of career planning and the role of specialized qualifications in shaping successful trajectories. She shared a comprehensive overview of the ACCA qualification and emphasized how ACCA serves as a global benchmark for excellence in accounting, finance, and audit professions, opening doors to diverse career opportunities across the world. She delved into various career paths available to ACCA graduates. She further highlighted the dynamic nature of the profession, through insightful anecdotes and real-life examples, attendees gained insights into roles spanning audit, financial analysis, taxation, advisory, and more, also stressing the importance of adaptability and continuous learning. She further offered practical advice on preparing for the ACCA exams, leveraging professional networks, and building a compelling resume. Attendees received actionable insights into maximizing their chances of success in obtaining the ACCA qualification and securing desirable job placements. The session saw participation of 300 attendees including students, and faculty members. The event ended with a vote of thanks to the invited speaker and a memento presentation by the faculty coordinator – Dr. Sumita Shroff.
