ICNU organised a panel discussion on “Banking and Fintech” on April 6, 2024, with Vasudha Khandelwal – CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Mr Lalit Jadhav – Partner, BDO LLP, as panel members. Ms. Vasudha discussed how technology and shifting customer demands have led to a substantial evolution in banking and fintech. Mr. Lalit gave examples of fintech including peer-to-peer lending, mobile payments, and blockchain. Both the panel members agreed on improved consumer experiences on account of fintech aggregators forcing conventional banks to embrace new business models. They further noted that these sectors will keep innovating through blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and regulatory changes to create a financial ecosystem that is both efficient and inclusive.
