In the year 2018, the Institute of Commerce established the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as per the guidelines of NAAC, which is a major step in maintaining the quality standards of the teaching-learning process of the Institute. This cell acts as a nodal agency of the Institute for coordinating quality-enhancement activities, including the adoption and dissemination of best practices and applying standards and benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities of the institute. The IQAC facilitates internalisation and institutionalisation of quality enhancement initiatives in teaching, research, and academic administration in-line with quality improvement aspects of university-level IQAC.

Role of IQAC 

  • Act as a catalyst for stimulating the culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and apply quality benchmarks or parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institute.
  • Organise workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and wide dissemination of the proceedings of such activities.
  • Prepare an annual plan, and compile and submit an annual quality assurance report (AQAR) to the University.
  • Facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  • Collect feedback from students, parents, and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes

Activities

IQAC-I regularly conducts Expert Lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Discussions, Forums, etc for quality enhancement of teaching, research, and administrative aspects of the institute. Some of the activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Discussion sessions on OBE -AOL implementation
  • Scientific writing workshops
  • Awareness sessions on research areas in commerce
  • Industry – Institute collaboration
  • Sessions on career avenues in the Accounting and BFSI
  • Online teaching & examination related sessions

IQAC meeting is conducted every month to plan, initiate and supervise the progress of institutional activities. The committee comprises of university representatives, senior faculty members, alumni, and students.
