Nirma University hosted 33rd Annual Convocation Ceremony on 22nd November 2024, celebrating the academic achievements of 2,780 graduating students. The graduating class included 1,884 undergraduate, 861 postgraduate, and 35 doctoral students, with 1,799 male and 981 female graduates.
A total of 66 medals were awarded to 56 students for their exceptional academic performances, comprising 30 female and 26 male medallists.
The ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Shri Sanjib Kumar Behera, Executive Director & State Head (Gujarat) of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., as the Chief Guest. In his address, Shri Behera congratulated the graduates, stating:
“It is a privilege to address you on this momentous occasion. You have transformed potential into reality, and now you stand on the threshold of a new chapter, prepared to make your mark in the world. As you move forward, remember that leadership begins with self-awareness and the ability to adapt to new challenges. Embrace optimism and resilience, and surround yourself with mentors and networks that can guide your growth. Stay curious, keep learning, and use your knowledge to contribute to society and build a better future. The road ahead may be difficult, but with persistence and purpose, you will succeed.”
He expressed his gratitude to Nirma University and its President for the opportunity to address the gathering, concluding with, “May your future be bright and fulfilling. Jai Hind.”
Dr. Karsanbhai K Patel, President of Nirma University, presided over the event. In his address, he underscored the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and values such as responsibility, humility, and hard work. He encouraged the graduates to contribute positively to society, protect the environment, and uphold equity, stating:
“Persistence and determination will help you overcome challenges and lead with courage.”
Dr. Anup K Singh, Director General of Nirma University, presented the annual report, highlighting the university’s significant advancements in research, academic excellence, and contributions to innovation.
