About
Udai Lal Paliwal has about two decades of lecturing experience obtained in India, Ethiopia, Namibia and Rwanda. Prior to joining Nirma University, Prof Paliwal worked as Vice Chancellor at University of Kigali, Rwanda. Earlier he worked as Associate Professor and Dean (Jan 2014 - Dec. 2015), Deputy Dean (Jan 2012 - Dec 2013) and HOD (Jan 2008 - Dec. 2011) at Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, University of Namibia, where he was awarded the ?Overall Best Faculty Award? of the University of Namibia. He organised several international conferences as conference Chair and launched ?Namibia National Accounting Talent Search Examination? as its founding coordinator. He has travelled to more than 20 countries to present papers in conferences and attend meetings, workshops etc. His accomplishments include development of 3 new programmes, establishing strong ties with SAICA / ICAN / NWU ? South Africa for offering B Acct (Professional) and MoUs with several other institutions of repute. Prof Paliwal has several publications to his credit including one book, five edited books, eight study materials and 18 articles in journals of international repute among others. He also served on editorial /review board of various journals. His sponsored projects / research include a DIF Innovation Project on Distance Education (World Bank Sponsored), a research on formalising the informal sector (sponsored by ESAURP), a WTO sponsored project on Trade in Services (with focus on higher education) and Provision of Training Services for Public Accountants and Auditors (Sponsored by Ministry of Finance, Rwanda) among others. He completed a major research project "Research Ambience and Research Productivity: A Study of Higher Education Institutions in India, South Africa and USA", sponsored by the ICSSR. Recently he organised a 2 week "Capacity Building Programme on Accounting Education and Research" sponsored by the ICSSR.
