Overview
The Students’ Activities Committee has specific cultural, sports, social committees, called Kalanidhi, Advitiya and Udgam that seek to encourage students’ social, psychological, and cultural development through a variety of programmes hosted throughout the year. Students participate in a variety of intra- and inter-college/university cultural and sporting events to foster friendly competition and team spirit, thereby nurturing the ability they already have. Committees have faculty coordinators who administer and monitor various activities at the institute and university level. Students are encouraged to participate in events hosted by other colleges, institutes, and universities all over the nation.
Cultural Events & Sports Activities
The Institute fosters a student’s overall development, emphasizing participation in many extracurricular activities in addition to academics. The campus has the required state-of-the-art facilities to support a wide range of cultural and sporting events.
Kalanidhi, the cultural committee of Institute of Commerce, organises a variety of cultural activities that promote skill development and provide a forum for students to demonstrate their ability. The committee organises ELYSIAN- an Annual National Level Cultural Festival hosting events like Music, Dance, Theatre, Fine-Arts,Fashion Blogging, & Literary and Academic events. National Level Case Analysis Competition (NLCAC) organised by Student Advisory Committee (SAC) focuses on case analysis on contemporary issues of the business world. In addition, the institute host a number of other cultural events like Talent Hunt, Ethnic Day Celebrations, Freshers, Farewell etc.
Advitiya, the sports committee of Institute of Commerce, encourages students to engage in sports and other forms of physical activity on a regular basis because it benefits the mind, body, and spirit. Individual sports instil self-motivation, whereas team sports instil accountability, leadership, teamwork, and other attributes. Kurukshetra, an annual inter-university sports championship held at the institute, attracts participants from various universities across India. Advitiya also hosts a Commerce Cricket League and a Commerce Volleyball League for students of the institute.
Udgam, the social club of Institute of Commerce, organises various drives such as swachhta abhiyaan, tree plantation, blood donation camp, senior citizen home & orphanages visits, charity drives, and other extension activities so that students learn how to give back to the community.
