The seven days special NSS camp was organised by the Institute of Commerce, Nirma University from 10th to 16th December 2019 at Kavitha, adopted village of the Institute. The camp was headed by the NSS programme officer Dr Nitin Kishore Saxena. The NSS student volunteers focussed upon primary issues like women empowerment, women’s safety, cleanliness, sex education, marital abuse, self-defense, employment generation, overall development of Kavitha’s school students, and awareness about government schemes for the villagers. The camp was a great success, however, much remains to be done to improve the picture of the village in the coming years. The volunteers took with them many lessons and lifetime experiences post the wrap up of the camp.
