Institute of Commerce organised a guest lecture under the Institute Lecture Series on the topic “Enterprise and Corporate Performance Management Methods”. The lecture was delivered by Gary Cokins, the Founder of Analytics-Based Performance Management LLC, Cary, North Carolina USA. Speaking at the event through Zoom, Mr.
Cokins highlighted that organisation needs to focus more on “what is important” rather than trying to do better in each and everything they do. Former Consultant at leading Firms such as KPMG, Deliotte, FMC Corporation and author of renowned books and articles, Gary highlighted the underlying purpose of analytics, i.e. “Better decisions for Better Actions”. He also explained the evolution of analytics from being descriptive to diagnostic to predictive to being prescriptive. The lecture was attended by about 300 students and all faculty members of the institute.
