A CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) Procedure training session was conducted on January 19, 2023 for about 110 first year students of the institute. The event was coordinated by Dr. Ashutosh Pandey ? Assistant Professor, ICNU. The CPR Procedure training session was conducted by Dr. Saumil Sanghvi, Intensivist, SGVP Holistic Hospital, Ahmedabad. Dr. Saumil started the session by discussing the importance of CPR and why it is necessary to know how to perform it. The purpose of this training session was to educate the students about the steps to perform CPR and to enable them to perform the procedure correctly in an emergency situation. He explained the various circumstances in which CPR may be required and how it can be used to save someone’s life. The instructor then moved on to the theoretical aspects of CPR, explaining the basic anatomy of the heart and lungs and how they function. The students were taught how to recognize the signs of a heart attack or cardiac arrest, which can include difficulty breathing, chest pain, and loss of consciousness.
After the theoretical aspect of the training session, the instructor demonstrated the CPR procedure step by step. The students were shown how to check for responsiveness, how to open the airway, and how to perform chest compressions and rescue breaths. The instructor also explained the correct hand placement and technique for chest compressions.
The students were then given the opportunity to practice the CPR procedure on mannequins under the guidance of the instructor. This practical session was designed to allow the students to gain confidence in performing CPR and to ensure that they understood the correct technique.
Overall, the CPR Procedure training session was a success, and the students gained valuable knowledge and skills that will enable them to perform CPR in an emergency situation. The instructor provided an excellent overview of the theoretical aspects of CPR and demonstrated the procedure effectively.
