The Freshers’ event of 2024, held on August 13, 2024, at the grand C Auditorium, marked an exciting new beginning for the incoming students of ICNU. With a glamorous “Classic Hollywood” theme, the event saw the participation of 450 enthusiastic students, setting the stage for a memorable evening of fun, bonding, and creativity. The event was organized by Kalanidhi and its various clubs, under the mentorship of Dr. CS Karishma Butani, led by the student coordinator Charu Ameta, blending style, celebration, and the spirit of togetherness.
The evening began with a warm and inclusive welcome from the seniors and faculty, ensuring the freshers felt part of the ICNU family. In a strong message of safety and community values, an anti-ragging video was shown to reinforce the importance of respect and camaraderie within the campus. The celebrations kicked off with a poster-making competition, showcasing the creativity of the new batch, with Vidhi Singhal taking the first prize and Dipshikha Adhikari securing second place for their artistic efforts.
Entertainment was the heart of the event, with dazzling performances in dance, music, and theatre that highlighted the impressive talents of the students. The audience remained engaged with exciting games like “What’s in the Box” and a challenging Hollywood quiz, which added an element of fun and interaction. A surprise activity took the stage when freshers were invited to showcase impromptu dance moves, bringing spontaneity and laughter to the evening.
The night’s main attraction was the highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. Fresher contest. After a series of rounds testing personality, creativity, and stage presence, Ram Gaur and Pavitra Bhandari were crowned Mr. and Ms. Fresher, while Manvendra Singh Solanki and Khanak Bhabani won the titles of Mr. and Ms. Classic, embodying the elegance of the Hollywood theme.
The evening culminated with an energetic DJ session, where students, old and new, let loose and celebrated their entry into a new academic journey. This event, filled with excitement, talent, and connection, laid the foundation for a vibrant and inclusive campus life, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter for the freshers of 2024.
