The Institute of Commerce, Nirma University (ICNU) successfully hosted Freshers’ 2025, a vibrant and heartwarming event organized to welcome the incoming batch of 2025–2029 with grandeur, energy, and infectious enthusiasm.

In the morning, the freshers participated in a lively session of games, including “Pass the Bottle” and “Hap Hop.” The atmosphere was filled with immense joy and excitement as students bonded over these fun activities. “Pass the Bottle” brought out a sense of camaraderie, with everyone enthusiastically engaging in the dares and questions. Following that, “Hap Hop” had everyone laughing and concentrating, as they tried to maintain the rhythm without making a mistake. The games were a great success, creating a cheerful and memorable start to the day.

The evening began with a prayer and a formal welcome address delivered by the Dean of ICNU, Dr. Udai Paliwal. Along with extending a warm greeting to the new batch, he also spoke about Commerce Day, which was being celebrated on the same day. Sir described it as a platform that celebrates the spirit of commerce and gives students an opportunity to engage beyond the classroom. Sir’s address was not only informative but also engaging. It motivated, inspired and helped freshers feel more connected to the institute’s culture and vision.

The cultural segment opened with a soulful semi-classical dance performance by Hwtvi Mehta and Khanak Babbani that beautifully blended grace and expression, setting a captivating tone for the evening. This was followed by a musical performance by ICNU’s music club “TARANG” that had the entire auditorium buzzing with energy—students thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant beats and enthusiastic delivery.

The entertainment continued with a series of fun activities. The first was a creative twist on Chinese Whisper, where participants communicated through actions and dance steps instead of words. The hilarious misinterpretations had everyone laughing and fully engaged. This was followed by a quirky Q&A round where participants had to respond with incorrect answers—turning a simple task into a delightfully funny challenge.

Next, the stage was set ablaze with a group dance performance by “NATRAJ” filled with high-energy moves, flawless coordination, and infectious enthusiasm. The performers showcased a variety of dance styles, sharp choreography, and fun elements. The synchronization, stage presence, and enthusiasm of the dancers kept the audience fully engaged.

Following that was a theatre performance based on the Bollywood multiverse. With iconic characters from various films coming together in a single storyline, the act offered a perfect blend of drama, humor, and nostalgia.

The dance performance by the second-year students was a breathtaking spectacle of talent and creativity.

Adding to the excitement was a hula hoop challenge done by the 3rd year and 4th year seniors. This spontaneous activity drew big cheers from the audience and added a playful vibe to the evening.

One of the most awaited moments of the night was the ramp walk, which was conducted in three rounds. The first round featured a solo walk, after which 10 boys and 10 girls were shortlisted. In the second round, these contestants paired up for a duo walk, and finally, the top 5 pairs advanced to the last round, which involved a brief Q&A session. Based on their confidence, style, and presence, the following winners were announced:

Mr. Fresher: Love Bishnoi
Miss Fresher: Akshika Vijay
Mr. Best Dressed: Parshva Shah
Miss Best Dressed: Riya Dobariya

The crowning of Mr. and Miss Fresher was met with loud cheers and applause, bringing the event to an exciting and emotional close.

The event’s success was made possible by the vision and leadership of Dr. Udai Paliwal, Dean of ICNU. It was executed smoothly under the dedicated guidance of Dr. CS Karishma Bhutani, Faculty Coordinator. The efforts of the Head Coordinators and team of Kalanidhi – The Cultural Committee and its clubs: Natraj – The Dance Club, Rangshala – The Theatre Club, Tarang – The Music Club, Melange – The Fashion Club, Orators – The Anchoring and Reporting Club, Spotlight – The Social Media Club, Marketing Club, Cultural Managing Club, Cultural Executive Club, and Prism – The Media Committee.
