Guest Lecture on “Role of Technology and Challenges in Auditing during the Covid Times”

The Institute of Commerce, Nirma University organised a Guest Lecture on the theme  of  “Role of technology and challenges in Auditing during the Covid times” held on 29.10.2021 in virtual mode on Cisco Webex, with a view to educate and apprise the students of the current developments and practical aspects in the auditing process.

CA Jigen Shah, FCA, DISA (ICAI), CISA(USA), and Senior Partner of                   J. C. Shah & Co., Chartered Accountant’s Firm was the Guest speaker of the Lecture. Assistant Professor Jhanvi Betai , ICNU welcomed the Guest Speaker and students in the session.

Speaking on referred topic, CA Jigen Shah started with explaining the role of technology in current scenario and briefed the participants on the various tools and software used in the auditing process. He explained in detail how auditing techniques have been upgraded and replaced the human intervention in the Covid scenario and significantly accelerated the evolution towards a “virtual” audit . He further highlighted that all future audits will be technology centric as they embrace the digital technologies.

It was a very informative and interesting session for all the participants as             CA Jigen Shah shared his valuable knowledge and views on the subject. Around 35 students of Semester V- accounting batch joined the session.

The Session then ended with a vote of thanks to the Guest Speaker for his knowledge sharing and to all the students for their participation.
