The Institute of Commerce transformed the C Auditorium into a jubilant tapestry of colour, tradition, and celebration as it hosted its much-anticipated Ethnic Day 2026, an evening that brought together the entire student body and faculty in a shared spirit of enthusiasm and Bollywood buzz. The event commenced on the evening of 19th March 2026 at the C Auditorium, with entry commencing at around 6 p.m. The event was centred around the theme of Band Baja Bollywood. The cultural committee conceived the event as a reimagination of the beloved Bollywood-style Sangeet, filled with infectious energy, vibrant aesthetics, joy, and music. The venue was elegantly decorated, and for one unforgettable evening, the institute was every bit as festive, every bit as alive, and every bit as full of colour as a true Sangeet.
The ethnic day started off with Saraswati Vandana, a gesture of reverence which helped seek the blessings of the goddess of music herself for an evening of cultural festivities. This was followed by a formal introduction to the event by the anchors, Ishaan Mishra and Garvika, who welcomed the beautifully dressed-up “Baratis”, the audience, and acquainted them with the spirit of the evening and the programme that lay ahead with clarity and charm throughout the night.

Their spirited dance routine brought the “Band Baja Bollywood” theme vividly to life and immediately captured the hearts of the audience, who gave them one enthusiastic round of applause after another.
Their performance was precisely synchronised, visually spectacular, and above all, alive with the kind of genuine enthusiasm that no amount of rehearsal can manufacture on its own. The Dance Committee’s exhilarating performance unmistakably set an extraordinarily high bar for the rest of the evening.
This was followed by a game hosted by Purva Mehta and Shivansh, drawing the crowd into the celebration. Following with the Third-Year students delivered their dance performance. Their performance captured the hearts of the audience and carried them on a wave of energy and colour that cemented the evening’s reputation as one to remember. The senior cohort successfully captured the spirit of “Band Baja Bollywood” at its finest.

After this was the time for the most awaited part of the event the fashion ramp walk., participants walked the stage in pairs as judges assessed their ethnic ensembles and stage presence, selecting the finest pairs to win the competition. This was met with great excitement from the audience, who cheered their favourites with genuine enthusiasm.
With the formal programme concluded, the celebration shifted outdoors to the CD Lawn at around 9:00 p.m., where the DJ Night hosted by DJ Diva and DJ Deeptrap of TRG, the riser group, transformed the evening into an open-air dance floor.
The students danced and celebrated, bringing the Band Baja Bollywood theme full circle in the most fitting way possible.
The event came to an end with the announcement of the results of the Ethnic Walk.
