The inaugural ceremony of the two-week long induction programme of the freshman batch commenced on July 18, 2024 with registration and expert session at the NIM Auditorium. The invited chief guest – Mr. Amit Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Adani Green Energy Ltd addressed the theme “Navigating Growth with Green energy”. He highlighted embracing energy-efficient technologies and support eco-friendly initiatives. He further discussed the crucial need of transition to green energy for sustainable growth in today’s global economy. He reiterated the need to reduce carbon footprint by adopting renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower, while enhancing long-term profitability. He shared the plans of Adani Ltd. for investments in green energy infrastructure, job opportunities and innovations, driving economic expansion. He further enlightened on governments’ policy support and incentives to accelerate the shift towards cleaner energy which is the need of the hour for mitigating climate change and securing a more resilient and sustainable future. He also motivated the students to be independent and have self-belief that can help in building an innovative mind and a better place to live. He emphasized that education and awareness are crucial in driving this transformation, as informed citizens are more likely to demand and support sustainable solutions.
Dr Anup K Singh (Director General, Nirma University, welcomed students and motivated them to be creative, collaborative, consistent, and curious. Dr Udai Paliwal, Director-ICNU congratulated the parents and the wards and set the expectations for the academic journey.
