Institute of Commerce, Nirma University commenced its two-week long Capacity Building Programme on “Contemporary Issues in Accounting Education and Research” sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi under the leadership of Course Director – Prof Udai Lal Paliwal, supported by Co-Course Directors – Dr. Sumita Shroff and CS Karishma Butani from February 28 2022 concluding on March, 12, 2022. The faculty members in the area of Accounting, and Finance from six states – Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat are participating in this programme. The training is aimed to upgrade the teaching and research skills in the field of accounting. Delivering welcome remarks Prof Udai Lal Paliwal highlighted the need to equip the participants with research skills and knowledge on the contemporary topics in the field of Accounting. Prof P. N. Tekwani in his keynote address highlighted the importance of teaching and research for the academicians which can be achieved through persistent efforts and linkages. Prof Anup Singh – Director General, Nirma University in his presidential remarks underlined the difference between truth and truthfulness and emphasized that truthfulness should be adhered to for achieving impactful research results.
