Institute of Commerce, Nirma University signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAI to Promote Academic Collaboration
In a move aimed at fostering cooperation and enhancing academic excellence, the Institute of Commerce, Nirma University, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership marks a significant step towards promoting synergy between both entities and enriching the education, research, and training landscape.
The key objectives of this MoU include encouraging staff interaction through interinstitutional visits, faculty exchanges, staff development initiatives, academic publications, collaborative research projects, innovative academic and research programs addressing common areas of interest, and the potential for ICAI accreditation. The agreement reflects a mutual commitment to advancing excellence, knowledge sharing, and skill development in academics, research, and training, with a focus on commerce courses. Additionally, the MoU recognizes Chartered Accountants Qualification as equivalent to a Post Graduate Degree for Ph.D. admissions and allows for the nomination of ICAI Members to academic bodies. Furthermore, ICAI commits to providing support in framing syllabi for these courses and offering subject-related training to faculty members. The special sessions by Chartered Accountants (CA) will align the curriculum with the New Education Policy, 2020.
