A stimulating panel discussion on “Global Accounting” comprising a distinguished panel CA Aniket Talati – the former President of the ICAI and Partner at Talati and Talati LLP; Mr. Matthew Chudukattil – Managing Director of Task Staffing Solutions; and CA Kshitij Patel – Managing Partner, Manubhai and Shah Co was conducted on April 5, 2024. The discussion was moderated by Mr Sandeep Shah – General Manager & HOD – IFSC, GIFT City. Mr Chudukattil highlighted upcoming technological advancements poised to revolutionize the field of Commerce and discussed the emerging employment opportunities in this light. CA Aniket Talati emphasized the potential for Indian accounting firms to supplant the Big4, particularly given India’s focus on self-reliance through the AtmaNirbhar Bharat Scheme. He stressed the importance of indigenous accounting entities. Meanwhile, CA Kshitij Patel underscored the significance of Indian enterprises in navigating global taxation regulations, shedding light on the varied tax policies adopted by foreign firms with varied names. As the moderator, Mr. Sandip Shah directed the discourse towards amalgamating diverse perspectives, particularly within the context of GIFT, and illuminated the expanding opportunities within this domain all the while supporting the perspectives in the context of domestic and foreign countries. The session provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary employment landscapes, accounting norms, and global taxation policies, spanning across international, Indian, and GIFT-specific contexts.
