The Institute organised a Symposium on Sustainable Accounting and Reporting Practices on 27 March 2023.The program began with the inaugural address of Prof Udai Paliwal, Dean and Director Institute of Commerce. He presented his ideas on ESG and how these practices affect an organization as a whole. He also discussed the global phenomenon of ESG reporting. The keynote speaker was CA Pradeep G. Tulsian who shared his knowledge on the Sustainability framework and Sustainable development goals. He also presented a matrix of different laws after independence and matched it with development goals.
The guest of honour was Prof. G Soral who delivered his talk online and enlightened the audience with the Time-line and growth of Sustainability as a concept in accounting. He also discussed the different frameworks of Sustainable reporting which are prevalent now a days. In this symposium Dr. Pranav Saraswat presented the conceptual understanding of Sustainability Accounting and Reporting. He also presented his research and findings based on a survey conducted on Pharma Companies related to sustainability reporting, which is part of a minor research project funded by the Nirma University.The session was enriched with knowledge and very fruitful for the students and audience.
