Talent Hunt 2025 at the Institute of Commerce, Nirma University was a vibrant two-day celebration of talent, creativity, and expression. It brought students together from various domains, encouraging them to showcase their abilities in fields ranging from marketing and finance to music, theatre, arts, fashion, sports, and public speaking. The event fostered a spirit of healthy competition, innovation, and cultural unity on campus.
The first event of Day 1 was Brandzilla, an academic marketing competition that blended creativity with corporate insight. In the first round, twelve teams represented rival brands like Swiggy vs Zomato, Domino’s vs Pizza Hut, Samsung vs iPhone, and Nike vs Adidas. They pitched their allotted brands using humorous skits, memes, and videos, while also offering witty critiques of their opponents. The judge, Mr. Modi, assessed teams on creativity, confidence, presentation, and brand knowledge. The top three teams—Samsung, Apple, and Swiggy—advanced to Round 2, where they had to advertise Ola EV in unique and engaging ways. Team Samsung was declared the Winner, while Team Apple secured the Runner-up position.
Following this, the Fine Arts events added color and charm to the day. Two events were conducted: Carry Your Canvas and Clay Charms & Keychains. Participants had two hours to express their creativity through art. Each piece reflected a unique blend of imagination, technique, and personal touch. After a detailed evaluation by the judges, the winners were announced. In the Clay Charms event, Tanushka Gupta secured first place, with Kanika as the Runner-up. In Carry Your Canvas, Purva Mehta was declared the Winner, followed by Leesa Akbari as the Runner-up.
The literary section of the day began with the Writing Relay, a group-based storytelling challenge. Each participant had to build on the story introduced by their teammate under a strict time limit. The activity tested coherence, imagination, and the ability to write under pressure. It was followed by the Extempore Challenge, where participants were given a random topic and five minutes to prepare a short speech. An added twist required them to switch perspectives or themes mid-speech, making the challenge more spontaneous and exciting.
The Fashion Event, based on the theme “Bollywood Villains,” was one of the most eye-catching events of the day. Participants portrayed legendary characters like Rani from Rocky and Rani, Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and Kancha Cheena from Agneepath, walking the stage in themed costumes and delivering short explanations of their looks. The panel of judges—Shreya Dhanukiya, Sidhant Zinzuwadia, and Dareen Gypsy—evaluated them based on outfit creativity, confidence, speaking skills, and overall presentation. After a competitive Q&A round in the second phase, Chahat Bafna was declared the Winner, while Varun Rijhwani was the Runner-up.
The theatre segment began with Mai Aur Meri Tanhai: The Solo Act Showdown, where participants performed self-written monologues or dramatic pieces. Both events were judged on stage presence, dialogue delivery, originality, and impact. These performances showcased the expressive range and storytelling skills of the students. It was followed by, Jhund Bana Kar Chalo: The Improv Battle. Teams were given a surprise scenario minutes before performance and had to develop a short skit on the spot.
As a refreshing break from the competitive spirit, the audience was treated to a stand-up comedy session by Nirav Rajgor. Known for his observational humor, Nirav entertained the crowd with hilarious takes on everyday student life, Gujarati culture, and social quirks. His interactive style and comic timing had the entire auditorium laughing, providing the perfect breather in a packed day.
The final event of Day 1 was Crescendo – The Music Event. It featured solo and duet singing performances in Hindi, English, and Gujarati. Participants chose a variety of genres, from soulful classics to energetic Bollywood hits. One of the highlights was a live flute performance, which captivated the entire hall. After all the participants had performed, the judges themselves joined in with impressive displays of classical and folk music. Astha Vachhani and Nidhi Prajapati secured the first position as duet, while Kavya Shah was the Runner-up as a solo performer. The musical evening ended on a high note, with impromptu performances from seniors and Executive Committee members, adding to the joy and camaraderie.
Day 2 began with the Finance Event, a portfolio management challenge that immersed participants in real-time financial decision-making. Teams were given a virtual capital of ₹300 crore to invest, and a surprise mid-game portfolio exchange tested their strategic thinking and adaptability. The competition blended financial theory with practical application, setting a strong tone for the rest of the day.
The Marketing Event followed, where participants tackled challenges like slogan creation, tagline innovation, and jingle writing. The event highlighted the participants’ business creativity and teamwork. After the judges reviewed all the entries, the team of Kathan Shah, Suhani Kothari, and Mohak Upadhyay emerged as Winners. The team of Yashvi Mehta, Shruti Dorik, Aashvi Mittal, Vanshika Chanchlani, and Simran Vyas were declared Runners-up.
The Sports Event focused on chess, a game of strategy and patience. After a series of intense rounds, Yajat Vyas secured the first position, followed by Shashwat Pugalia as Runner-up. The event demonstrated not only mental sharpness but also sportsmanship and concentration.
Next was the Media Event, which included the Snapsprint Photography Battle and the Reel Race. Judged by Mr. Pragnesh Suthar, founder of Clickvibe Production, participants were tasked with capturing stories through visuals. In the photography segment, Rutvi took first place and Suhani Kothari came in second. For the reel-making competition, Vanshika Ramchandani was the Winner, and Kathan secured the Runner-up spot. Both segments celebrated visual storytelling in a digital age.
The Debate Competition came next, judged by Mr. Vishesh Pratap Gurjar. The format involved a three-minute opening statement, a rebuttal round, and a thirty-second conclusion. The event tested participants’ logical reasoning, argument construction, and public speaking skills. The team of Maanya and Snigdha were declared Winners, while Archita and Archee took the Runner-up position after a series of well-contested debates.
The Oratory Event, titled The Yappers Show: Chupa Chups Edition, challenged participants to narrate a story while spontaneously switching between assigned emotions during the performance. This tested spontaneity, adaptability, and stage presence. Judged by Mr. Nilesh Nainani and Ms. Shobhana Nair, the event received praise for its creativity and performance quality. Khanak Babani emerged as the Winner, while Tirth Jyotishi was named the Runner-up.
The closing event of Talent Hunt 2025 was the Dance Event, divided into three categories: Taal Se Taal Mila (Solo), Symmetry & Chaos (Duo), and Andaaz-e-Ada (Group). Performers amazed the crowd with their choreography, rhythm, and energy. In the solo category, Hetvi Mehta was the Winner, and Bhini Jain was Runner-up. The duo event was won by Nishika Patel and Rhea Pillai, while Aashvi Jani and Raina Shah took second place. The group dance category ended the event on a high note, with Miranki and her team winning first place, and Bhini Jain and her team as Runners-up. Judges Mr. Nilesh Nainani and Mr. Aakash Vanzara applauded the hard work and dedication of all participants.
Talent Hunt 2025 was executed under the leadership of Dr. Udai Paliwal, Dean of ICNU, and the committed guidance of Dr. CS Karishma Bhutani, Faculty Coordinator. The efforts of Vidhi Singhal, Akshita Jain, Kaavya Gupta, Jainish Thakkar, Parv Bhanderi & Janhavi Singh, the Head Coordinators of Kalanidhi – The Cultural Committee and the dedication & hardwork of its affiliated clubs including Natraj, Rangshala, Tarang, Melange, Orators, Spotlight, Marketing Club, Cultural Managing Club, Cultural Executive Club, Prism and SAC- Student Advisory Committee, were instrumental in making the event seamless, lively, and memorable. Over two days, the campus witnessed an incredible display of talent, teamwork, and youthful energy that will be remembered for years to come.
